About PPGCS
The Graduate Program in Social Sciences (PPGCS) of the Federal Rural University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRRJ), approved by CAPES and developed in partnership involving the Institute of Human and Social Sciences, the Multidisciplinary Institute and the Três Rios Institute of UFRRJ , aims to train qualified professionals for research and teaching activities in Social Sciences.
The PPGCS aims to train graduates for specialized research and offer training that allows the analysis of social problems from the theoretical-methodological frameworks of the three disciplinary fields of Social Sciences: Anthropology, Sociology, and Political Science.
The PPGCS privileges interdisciplinary approaches in the treatment of issues that, due to their complexity, do not exhaust themselves in a single field of knowledge.
The program is managed by Professor Marco Antonio Perruso (Coordinator) and Professor Carly Barboza Machado (Vice-coordinator), and other members of the Collegiate and the Commissions of the Graduate Program in Social Sciences.
The PPGCS Collegiate is composed of all the Professors that make up the faculty, the administrative technician and the student representatives.
